Easy Acoustic Guitar Songs

Discover some easy acoustic guitar songs. The acoustic guitar has a sound that you can’t get from an electric guitar.

You can hear acoustic guitar in many rock songs like The Who’s “Behind Blue Eyes” and The Eagles use them in just about all their songs.

This is one reason why many players use acoustic guitars in the studio.

Many of the acoustics nowadays have transducer pick-ups under the saddle, making them easier to use live instead of using a microphone to amplify them.

Although some players still prefer to mike them than to use the electronic pick-up for tone reasons.

Horse with No Name

Writer – Dewey Bunnell – Group – America

This song was recorded using an odd-ball tuning which we won’t use

These chords will be close enough so you won’t have to retune your guitar

A Little Chord Lesson

The reason the Dmaj6/9 chord is different from the D6/9 is the Dmaj6/9 has a major 7th in it. The C sharp on the 5th string.

Any time a chord has a major 7th in it. The name of the chord will always have a maj in its name no matter what else is in the chord.

A major 7th is one half step or one fret back from the root. Usually an octave up from the root.

You should mute the 6th string except when playing the chorus, otherwise you get a muddy sound.

This is really one of the easy acoustic guitar songs you will run across.
